Sales launch at 13-story luxury River North condos near Huron & Dearborn

Approved by the City in 2016, the slender building at 56 W Huron St. in River North will contain just eleven for-sale luxury residences.

The developer of a 13-story glassy contemporary building has launched sales for the project’s eleven units. The new building will replace the brick 1912 church that has been home to Van Cleef Hair Studio in recent years – a salon once frequented by former First Lady Michelle Obama.

According to Kifebaum Development, the prices for the ten full-floor condominium start at just under $1.68 million and a two-level penthouse priced at $3.99 million.

Heather MacFarland gleaned from a public notice for a proposed zoning change sent to nearby residents in February of 2016 that the 154-foot development will feature a ground floor lobby and at-grade garage parking for eleven vehicles. The proposed zoning change from DX-5 to Dx-7 was approved by Chicago City Council a few months later.
The single-floor units will have three bedrooms and the penthouse will have four. Every unit will have a terrace and elevator access directly into the home. A technology package featuring keyless entry and control of visitors' access, along with a host of other amenities, "offers the services of a larger building in a more boutique setting", says Joseph Kiferbaum, head of Kiferbaum Development.

With construction slated for September and units ready for occupancy in 2018, get a glimpse into boutique living, unrivaled privacy and elegant design.
